Our location is 5 miles from Kahului Airport, one mile from Paia Town, 45 miles to Hana. Our address is 676 Hana Highway where this historic road begins it's way to the far east side of Maui. We are at the foot of the magnificent Haleakala Crater. Our sea level climate is usually about 80 and sunny, kept cool by the trade winds. Kuau is a casual, friendly village. Mama's Fish House, Maui's famous and outstanding island cuisine restaurant has been thriving in Kuau for decades. It is a stroll away. We also have Kuau Mart, where you can get cold drinks, hot food and snacks from the very friendly store keepers just across the street.

Paia Town, one mile away, is a colorful town full of locals and people from around the world. The 10 or so restaurants are all very good, unique and good prices. Many on Maui say Paia is the best town for shopping. Shops are owned operated and individualized, making them special when compared to resort shops.

We are surrounded by beautiful beaches. Maui's north shore is renowned for surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing and tow surfing at Jaws, 8 minutes away. There are also protected lagoons for children and safe swimming year round.

Other places of interest nearby or in the region are the paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao, the Ulupalakua Winery, various botanical gardens, hiking to pools and waterfalls, Haleakala National Park, Maui Arts & Cultural Center. We are also close to the hospital, large shopping malls and theater complexes.

We recently refurbished this wonderful treasure of a house. It is a six bedroom, two story house, large and roomy. For guests we offer two bedrooms upstairs with ocean and mountain views. They share a lovely bathroom with a bathtub. These rooms have cable T.V. and telephones. Downstairs there are two bedrooms; one queen bed room and a 2 twin beds room. All rooms have quality linens and towels. There are two bathrooms downstairs. We clean the house daily to keep it sparkling. We have a beautiful, large living room and a pleasant day room, which together make the common area spacious and comfortable. We have a broadband wireless internet connection for guest's use and cable channels and a portfolio of DVDs and flatscreen TV. We have a sound system inside and out. We also have two washer/dryers.

The kitchen is good size, fully equipped for cooking and entertaining, complete with toaster, microwave, coffee maker, blender, food processor etc. There are two refrigerators, one in the kitchen and one on the party patio for beverages and guests' groceries. The party patio is where the gang can hang out in the converted garage, local style, watching the sun go down around the barbeque with the music turned up. The house is surrounded by tropical landscaping, banana patch, fruit trees and a large back yard for sunbathing and croquet. Breakfast is included. We provide an assortment of fruit, breads and bagels, cereals, milk, juice, teas and coffee. Guests may help themselves to breakfast whenever they please.

Payment can be made with check, cash or traveler's check. (no credit cards) 50% deposit is required within 10 days of reservation. Balance due upon arrival. Deposits will be refunded if cancelled dates can be re-booked. We try to be fair. Travel Insurance is recommended.
